Die Welt der Mobiles gibt dem Künstler viele Möglichkeiten. Auf Standfüßen, hängend oder aufgesetzt, oder freischwebend, von der Decke kommend, bestimmen die metallernen Kunstwerke den Raum.

Gut ein Dutzend hängende Mobiles habe ich über die Jahre gebaut. In öffentlichen Räumen (im Krankenhaus in Ebersberg) waren sie als langjährige Leihgabe zu sehen. In meinem eigenen Haus kommt kaum ein Raum ohne ein Mobile aus, das an zentraler Stelle, in einer Ecke oder auch als eine Art Raumteiler meinen Alltag begleitet.

Whether they’re sitting on a solid base, hanging or floating from the ceiling, these metals sculptures build the centrepiece of any room they’re presented in. I’ve built far more than 20 mobiles over the years. Some of them were displayed in public spaces (such as the hospitals in Rothenburg and Ebersberg) as items on loan. I’ve been a member of Rothenburg’s arts circle for many years now and present a new piece of work at every annual exhibition. There isn’t a single room left in my own house that doesn’t feature a mobile, whether it’s as a central element, in a corner to as a kind of room divider. All my mobiles a meticulously home-made. To do so, you need a lot of patience and sometimes even a bit of desperation if something seems like it just doesn’t want to work. In the end, however, my excitement for the beautifully modulated swinging always wins and it the reason why I continue to do it.
